Stances change the combos while in melee form (not quick melee) but the key point is that instead of costing energy, they give energy. Well Pangolin and Jaw are pretty much crap. Single Heat has more basic melee damage whereas the dual heat sword is more for charge attacks. Whichever one is more interesting I suppose.

Cronus is pretty much the worst sword in the game by stats. If modded correctly it'll still be adequate for the level you're at, but the Heat Sword is better in every way.
